[00:13.02]Four score and seven years ago,
[00:15.83]our fathers brought forth on this continent
[00:22.31] a new nation,
[00:24.41] conceived in liberty,
[00:27.59]and dedicated to the proposition
[00:32.62] that all men are created equal.
[00:35.19]Now we are engaged
[00:40.55]in a great civil war,
[00:43.75]testing whether that nation, or any nation
[00:49.28]so conceived and so dedicated,
[00:52.26]can long endure.
[00:54.14]We are met on a great battlefield of that war.
[01:01.15]We have come to dedicate a portion of that field
[01:10.24] as a final resting place for those who here
[01:14.74]gave their lives that nation might live.
[01:21.46] It is altogether fitting and proper
[01:25.84]that we should do this.
[01:28.66]But, in a larger sense,
[01:32.56] we cannot dedicate—
[01:35.56]we cannot consecrate—
[01:38.18]we cannot hallow—
[01:40.13]this ground.
[01:42.78]The brave men, living and dead,
[01:47.35]who struggled here,
[01:49.09]have consecrated it far above our poor power to add
[01:56.34]or detract.
[01:59.23]The world will little note
[02:04.94]nor long remember what we say here,
[02:09.52]but it can never forget
[02:13.66] what they did here.
[02:17.09]It is for us, the living, rather,
[02:23.48] to be dedicated here to the unfinished work
[02:28.49] which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced.
[02:33.98]It is rather for us to be here dedicated
[02:40.57]to the great task remaining before us—
[02:46.67]that from these honored dead
[02:52.62] we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave
[02:59.22] the last full measure of devotion;
[03:04.95] that we here highly resolve
[03:09.84]that these dead shall not have died in vain;
[03:13.31] that this nation, under God,
[03:17.80]shall have a new birth of freedom;
[03:21.63] and that government of the people,
[03:25.58]by the people,
[03:27.62]for the people,
[03:29.29]shall not perish from the earth.
