　　An ancient Indian sage was teaching his disciples archery. He put a wooden bird as the target and asked them to aim at the eye of the bird. The first disciple was asked to describe what he saw. He said, “I see the trees, the branches, the leaves, the sky, the bird and its eyes.”

　　The sage asked this disciple to wait.

　　Then he asked the second disciple the same question and he replied, “Only the eye of the bird.” The sage said, “Very good. Then shoot.” The arrow went straight and hit the eye of the bird.3


　　小鸟的眼睛

　　一位古印度智者正向他的弟子们传授射箭术。他将一只木鸟作为靶子，让弟子们瞄准木鸟的眼睛。智者请第一个弟子描述一下看到的东西。弟子说：“我看到了树木，树枝，树叶，天空，小鸟和它的眼睛。”

　　智者让这个弟子等一会儿。接着，他问第二个弟子同样的问题，弟子回答说：“我只看到了小鸟的眼睛。”智者说：“很好。那就射吧。”箭笔直的飞出去，正中小鸟的那只眼睛。
